On December 15, 1893, Jan Petersilge began construction of the front tenement house at 86 Piotrkowska Street in Łódź. The construction was completely completed in 1896 according to the architects' design - Kazimierz Pomian-Sokołowski and Franciszek Chełmiński. The building has an eclectic façade (electricism is a direction consisting in joining in one building freely, often incompatible, elements selected from different architectural styles), very richly ornamented: leaves, flowers, cupids. In the central part there is a statue of Jan Gutenberg, between the windows there are medallions with portraits of printing inventors. In 2011, a general renovation of the tenement house facade was completed, restoring its original splendor. During conservation work, garlands with pumpkins, sunflowers, grapes and other fruits and flowers painted on the pediment were found.
