It was founded in 1778 by duchess Helena Radziwiłł née Przeździecki. The following buildings were erected then: Temple of Diana, Aqueduct, Shrine of the High Priest, Gothic House with the Cave of Sibyl, Stone Arch and House of Murgrabi. Helena gathered in Arkadia a rich collection of ancient art as well as antiquizing sculptures and copies of ancient works, as well as medieval and Renaissance antiquities, from which she created a kind of museum in the Temple of Diana. The park is part of the Museum in Nieborów and Arkadia - a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw.
